Raein - Sulla linea d'orizzonte tra questa mia vita e quella di tutti
This album came as a surprise. It was only when browsing end of the year lists that I realized Raein was even still a band. After about 4 months of just sitting on my hard drive, I burned this onto CD and it hasn't left my car in 4 days. Such a powerful album, definitely has a different feel from their early stuff, but I guess bands gotta change their sound a little, and with Raein, I think they've achieved something special. All of it DIY, from recording to putting out the vinyl.

The Secret - Solve Et Coagula
Brutal jams from this new Southern Lord inductee. Definitely one of the best hardcore albums I've heard this year. Keep it heavy, keep it fast.

Neil On Impression - L'Oceano Delle Onde Che Restano Onde Per Sempre
Underestimated release from 2008. Very engaging post-rock featuring members of La Quiete.

Ampere - The First Five Years
A compilation of all the Ampere tracks from splits with bands such as Daïtro, Funeral Diner, Wolves, Das Oath, Welcome The Plague Year, Ringers, as well as the demo songs and live tracks. A good overview of a great band.
(This does not include the songs from the Ampere/Sinaloa split. I'll post that later.)

Former Thieves - The Great & The Alleged Great
Here is an example of a pure work ethic. These guys have gone far in the two years of existence, and I have made sure to follow them wherever I could. When I first got this album, I don't think it left my car stereo for a couple weeks. Help these dudes keep tourin' by buying some merch.

SUNN O))) - Oracle
One of my favorite SUNN O))) albums. Evil incarnate. "Maximum Volume Yields Maximum Results."
